The Compact Steep Spectrum Quasar 3C 309.1

3C 309.1 is one of the largest and most luminous members of the class of compact steep spectrum (CSS) radio sources. These images were obtained with the NRAO Very Long Baseline Array at 5 GHz and show complex structure in the jet.
